Rebecca Crouch, Ranger's Development Co-ordinator has submitted an opinions article for IFRTD's 'Rural Transport and Health' competition (Nov 2007), which has now been published. The article focuses on the Dowa Safe Motherhood Program where 10 eRanger Ambulances have been used since 2005 to provide prompt, cost-effective emergency maternal referral transport from rural health facilities to the district hospital. To date, the eRanger Ambulances have contributed to a reduction in maternal mortality rates of over 50%.
