No Strings, Afghanistan

In April, our Chairman, Robert Deacon-Elliott, held a fund-raising event in Dubai in aid of purchasing 2 eRanger Education Units to No Strings International and their work in Afghanistan.

Already using 2 eRanger Education Units to disseminate their landmine awareness videos and workshops to the communities and children in the mountains and villages around Kabul, these additional 2 eRangers will allow No Strings and their Afghan partner OMAR to extend their program and reach twice as many people.

Whilst the eRanger Education Units are being used to show No Strings’ educational puppet videos to communities, 2 eRanger Ambulances are assisting landmine clearance teams in the local area, ensuring readily-available, rapid patient-transport is available should it be needed in this dangerous work.

Speaking at the Dubai event, Johnie McGlade, Founder of No Strings International said "The media bikes have been an important part of our mine-awareness programme to date in Afghanistan, and on the strength of this success we've been able to source funding for an additional two which we hope will further expand our programme to more outreach areas of the country. Afghanistan is a country with few resources, and these media bikes mean that lots of children and communities can see this potentially life-saving film who wouldn't otherwise be able to."
