Who We Are

President Nelson Mandela of South Africa

President Nelson Mandela of South Africa

Patron

In his early days, President Nelson Mandela was an anti-apartheid activist in South Africa. In 1962 he was arrested, tried, and found guilty on charges including sabotage. As a result of this he spent 27 years in prison. On his release in February 1990, he led his party in talks to secure a multi-racial democracy. He served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.

He offered to be Patron of eRanger and eRanger SA was launched by him at his house in Qunu, Eastern Cape.

We at eRanger were deeply saddened by the passing of Madiba in December 2013.

However, he still remains our Patron in spirit and his support and inspiration has helped us to bring hope and healthcare to many people less fortunate than ourselves.
